| I am looking for feedback from anyone that has used or is familiar with the Analox O2EII Portable Oxygen Analyzer for NITROX divers. Apparently it is pretty big in Europe but is just breaking out in the US. If you have one, have used one or have a buddy that has used one, feedback on ease of use, durability and "bang for the buck" would be appreciated ... good or bad. I can take the answers off the board if you prefer. Thanks! -- Ray Contreras =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Webmonkey for: http://www.ossystems.com http://www.bobs-garage.com http://www.rayzplace.com |

I co-developed their first version called the O2 Stick. The new one seems to have taken the concept to a more rugged and maintainable level. What do you need to know? The work, are accurate and easy to use and use standard sensors. Cya Bob Denton Gulf Stream International Delray Beach, Florida www.sinkthestink.com Manufacturers of Sink the Stink |

I've had one for about a year. Very slick, very easy. I got a very special deal, so I don't know about bang for the buck. It comes with a sensor seal, the sensor is long life and replaceable. Battery draw is very reasonable. I have yet to replace the original set. In practice, it is very fast. I also find that it reads well by "shot". i.e. instead of a steady stream, just give it a good shot, wait for it to stop climbing and shoot it once more. I have Thermo 'all or nothing' valves, so I rather like that. When it was new, calibration was a little jumpy. I had to recalibrate between tanks until I'd read 3 or 4 tanks...now, it's very steady. It is definitely a nice piece of kit. safe diving, bullshark |

Sometimes I wonder which is more obnoxious ---- the sink-the-stink odor or what it's trying to remove <g>. Charlie Allen |

The "smell" is actually an all natural fragrance made from primarily from Eucalyptus and other natural ingredients. It is especially concentrated since StS is itself, very concentrated and designed to be diluted up to 1/2 oz in 20 gallons of water. The idea is to have enough fragrance present to know StS is present in a dip tank. Many dive shops really like the fragrance and I've seen folks treat their A/C filters with StS. The fragrance completely dissipates once the article has dried. You may be using too much StS to do the job...a little dab will do ya! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Cya! I didn't really think it would work on that, but decided to try it anyway. It took two applications, but it got the odor completely out. The part about allowing the article to dry completely is very important. -JimG -- Jim Greenlee (jkg@cc.gatech.edu) Trolling, trolling, trolling College of Computing To keep those postings scrolling Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA 30332 I almost lost control and, Replied! |
