| I'm 6" 3 1/2" tall, weight 208lbs, have a 38" waist and size 12 shoes. Will a stock XL size fit me? I'm mainly concerned about the height and shoe size. I assume it will be a little baggy. Anybody out there my size diving with a stock XL size DUI suit? My local dive shop says I need a custom size (he hasn't measured me, he said that over the phone). Those suits are already SO DANG EXPENSIVE I just don't want to pay an additional $300 for a custom size if I don't have to. Thanks! |

No. I'm 6'2" 200lbs and it doesn't offer me the range of motion to reach my valves easy enough. Laser |

I'm about the same build and the torso is a touch too big in the shoulders, but not bad. The legs/hips fit like they were custom cut. It is a much better fit than my Typhoon XL. My feet are 11-1/2 and very narrow... the socks fit, just okay. If your size 12 feet are of "normal" width, the size 11 socks will probably be too small... turbo soles would certainly be too small. I ordered mine with rock boots and use my old size 12 wetsuit booties with it so I can still use the XL Jetfins. Double check your measurements... I've been wearing size 36 pants for years, even as high as 220lbs, but even now at 205, my "by the book" measurements are about 44-44-44. Ya... I wear my pants just a hair low. IF you go with a custom suit, what DUI will more than likely do is put size 12 boots on XL pants and a L or ML torso. They don't actually do true custom cuts until you get into the signature or cave-cut series... they just take a stock "part" that most closely matches your measurement and graft the suit together. --- Rich http://richlockyer.tripod.com/ |
