| just wondering what the interest might be for a 2.1 meg pix digital with case rated to 100 feet. I am talking with a rep for a company that makes similar items and suggested this. It would not be professional quality to be sure but I am thinking of something small and simple to use for the occasional user. Thought or ideas would be appreciated. Brian |

| I think it's called the SeaLife DC200 (or 100 or 250), and you could probably ask them how many they sell everyday. | You are of course right about the Sea Life DC100 or 200. I guess I forgot to mention in the earlier post that it may have a price range under $75 usd. Sorry without that the post is a waste of time. Brian |

So basically, it would compete with the Bonica Snapper and Ikelite Auto35? Tao te Carl "It takes a village to have an idiot." - Carl (c) 2003 |

| It would compete with them but be digital instead of film. Brian |

If the latter, I don't see how you'll compete with the olympus and canon offerings. Not that cheap, but they mate perfectly to tiny 3-5MP units with all the controls. I have the S400 with the WD800. $600, of which the housing is about 170. A $75 unit that can do near range snapshots in clear warm water would likely sell quite well, but I don't expect it would have an LCD at that price. -- Jason O'Rourke www.jor.com |

| I am not entirely sure what it will have yet. I am trying to see what interest there might be for a low end unit. It would be $75 for camera and housing. I suspect that there would be no lcd although I will push for one. I fully realize that this won't satisfy the serious person. I personally would like something in the 6 meg range but have been satisfied with the Kodak in the 2 meg range (had the camera and got the housing and light cheap). But I would like something small and easy to use that doesn't cost a lot for quick snaps. Brian |

I, for one, would definately be interested in seeing a $75 2+ MP digital camera w/Housing (especially if it had an LCD) on the market, especially if it used CF or SM storage cards. > > Brian > > |
