Default DACOR.... company news ?

Hey guys... anybody have an idea what is happening with DACOR now that MARES
owns them ?

The reason I ask........
I have been a strong DACOR user since the "glory days" starting in 1977.
DACOR and USD were the 2 big names then.

I recently had to start replacing equipment.... so I wanted to go back with
DACOR......... wow tough !!!!!

Almost no stores carry DACOR line.......... I contacted company 3 times asking
for catalog........ never got anything......................I order a few
products online but keep getting told "Sorry Discontinued".... even though
those porducts still appear on DACOR website.

Is DACOR going to carry on or dissapear into the MARES line ??

Dacors still going strong here in NZ, try www.diveHQ.co.nz their product
displays online are in PDF format so I hope you have a fast connection if
you access it.
I was looking at getting the Viper reg and octi, But will proably go for an
Ebay cheapie and have it checked over by the dive shop with a microscope.

Mares owns Dacor?? News to me I thought HTM owned the Mares brand as well as
Dacor.

When Dacor was getting ready to be sold to HTM their customer service just
disappeared, as the company started its move away from Illinois shops were
told that there would be a delay for parts and service. Well it is what, 5
years? There is still a huge delay for parts and service, most orders are
shipped to the shops wrong and it is almost impossible to get the billing
straight. Our shop decided this year to stop carry the Dacor line because of
these problems.

The LDS had six new Dacor American Vipers in the box, one top of his
counter yesterday. I've been tempted to replace my well used Seaquest
regs with one of these......

We cannot get regulator or BC parts from Dacor..we quit carrying Dacor
because of this.

Dacor has gone the way of the buffalo.
