Default ScubaToys RECOMMENDATION

I have been trying to find a satisfactory digital camera for an upcoming
trip and just wanted to commend Scuba Toys dive
store(http://www.scubatoys.com) for their wonderful customer service. I am
in no way affiliated with them (I don't even live in the same state).

My order was filled quickly and arrived on time. When I identified a
manufacturer's problem with the camera they immediately shipped me a
replacement, no questions asked and didn't force me to wait for me to return
the original one first. It turned out this camera was not going to meet my
needs and they accepted the 2nd camera back with NO hassle. This was the
best internet shopping experience I have had in a long time and strongly
recommend them. I will certainly shop there first in the future.

Let me second that; I've ordered from them twice, and they ship quickly with
absolutely zero problems.

I've been in the store before and it seems to be a pretty decent operation.
My LDS has MUCH better prices though, and I rather keep the money local than
send it halfway across the state.

They've got much better prices on most things than my LDS -- except when
they're on sale -- and as a broke student who mostly dives on vacation, for
some things it's worth ordering online.

I agree. My LDS is a rather interesting situation. The owner of the LDS is
a real estate agent. He only runs the LDS as a side business to help cover
the cost of scuba trips. Everything in the store is either at cost or has a
10% markup (I've seen invoices that prove this). It's tough to beat cost
+10%.

Yeah, that is tough to beat! My LDS is a good place, but there markup on
stuff they have to keep in stock is pretty high. Sometimes it's worth it --
they give free fills if you buy your tank there, and for friends who dive
locally a lot, it can easily pay off the difference very quickly.

Not for me it wouldn't... I get free rentals of wetsuits (unless I demand to
pay for them) and generally rent 6-8 full tanks for a weekend of diving for
$10-$15. Considering that I got my BC at approximately $200 off retail and
about $125 less than the cheapest alternative, I'd say it would take a heck
of a lot of fills to make up for that. YMMV.

My $ .02..

I'm here in Dallas and Larry & Joe are some of the best guys around!
No high pressure selling and no BS. Only complaint is that they are
closed on Sundays...

Can't wait for the new store to open. More room for more toys! Right
now they are so busy it's sometimes hard to walk around in the store
due to all of the equipment coming in/shipping out.

Just a satisfied customer.....

I don't know, but if you tell me what you need I can probably get it for
you.

If he will sell over the phone your cost will *probably* be a touch higher
than mine because of the extra shipping to your location. Of course, if I
were to get it for you, the same thing would apply. Let me know what you
want and I'll see what he'll do. (also, let me know where you are as that
*might* play into the equation)
