| Hello ! I am in the process of looking for a new UW-Camera (digital). Before I used a Olympus C5050 with a PT-015 housing and I was very satisfied with the result - even without an external strobe (thanks to Photoshop...) Today I tested the new C5060 and was impressed (faster autofocus, wide angle and quieter zooming). Since the C5060 uses LiIon-batteries I am wondering if anyone uses this combination. My first UW-camera was a SONY DSC-P5 with the SONY housing and that was very bad: the housing began fogging just after 10 minutes into the dive - I think because of the LiIon-batteries the SONY uses - they get very hot... 8(( With the C5050 I used "regular" rechargable AA-type batteries and that worked great:two or three dives with one set of batteries and no fogging of the housing. Now I fear that the C5060 (or its LiIon-batteries to be more exact) might fog the housing also. Anyone out there who can tell me his/her experience (handling under water/fogging/ how many pictures before the batteries need charging and so on)? Also I´m very interested in hearing what kind of external strobes you use with that combination and which settings you use with your camera and with your flash. TIA Jörg (from Germany - so please excuse my not so good english) -- Ich glaube jedem, der die Wahrheit sucht. Ich glaube niemandem, der sie gefunden hat. (Tucholsky) |

| It was asked: >Anyone out there who can tell me his/her experience >(handling under water/fogging/ >how many pictures before the batteries need charging and so on)? There have been a number of discussions from some initial "guinea pigs" for this combo over at www.digitaldiver.net. You might want to surf over there and talk with those folks. They're on top of it :) Amber |
