I just got a 400 and a housing from Adorama.com. There are a number of places that carry it - I just did a google search on the part number of the housing (PT016), and got all kinds of hits from all over the world. My local dive shop was carring it as well - they were offering the combination of the 300 + housing for about 600$, but I did a lot better going online. Will be testing it in a pool on Wed, and trying it out in the ocean in a week or so. FWIW, there is a rebate if you purchase by something like the 17th. As you might expect, there are lots of adjustments you can make on a digital camera. I found a website from Canon in Japan (site is in English), that has some interesting suggestions that are specifically related to underwater digital photography: http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/uwphoto/page/01-e.html. -Eric |

| Mario; I use a Nikon Coolpix 4300 with a Fantasea CP4 housing with attached Sea&Sea 20mm Wide conversion lens. In addition I light things up with an Epoque ES 150 DS. The system works well and if bought from the right sources can cost less then $1000. | There are U/W housings available for some of the Canon cameras. Depending on what you need you may be able to find a deal on ebay or searching google.com Jay "Mario" <mandm@flashnet.it> wrote in message news:9ae829af.0401091158.1a1739c5@posting.google.c om... > Hello, > > Are there any digital cameras for underwater photography ? how many > meters or feet they can reach? they have connection for external > stronger flash ? what is the lense aperture? > > Please tell me what are good models of digital cameras for underwater > photography with and without underwater casing I mean no need of extra > housing for underwater are there any? how deep they can go ? > > what about with housing digital cameras? which ones are considered > best? > > thanks, > > Mario |
