Default jaw/head pain while/after diving

Hi,
Has anyone experienced jaw or head pain while diving, or afterwards? Or,
have you been diagnosed with temporomandibular dysfunction, also called
divers mouth syndrome? I'm doing some research for a magazine article, and I
be interested in hearing your stories.

Yea, both. Jaw was huring due to fatigue after using an all-metal
second-stage that felt like it weight a ton. I had to bite quite hard
so that it wouldn't fall off (the mouthpiece was quite poor too).

Headache sometimes strikes afterwards if its a bad up&down dive and I
forget to apply nosedrops to open my ear canals. Pressure changes cause
quite a bit of a headache after surfacing. Usually goes away fairly
quickly if I just lie down and rest a couple of minutes.

I use a SeaCure: http://www.seacure1.com/design.htm
This made my jaw fatique go away, also very comfortable.

Headaches were a popular malady for me when I first started diving.
Early on I learned about skip-breathing, causing excessive Co2 in the
bloodstream, mild and short-lived, they cleared soon after surfacing.

Then jaw fatigue became apparent at odd times, largely stress related,
and calming things down a notch or two helped a lot and reduced gas
consumption as well.

Then I was turned on to the Seacure mouthpiece by a bud, and my
subsurface world improved to almost perfect. Almost because I was still
using a heavy 2nd stage reg. I've since replaced that old heavy Dacor
with a properly-tuned Scubapro MK25T/S600T. Still using a Seacure, life
just doesn't get any better. Since I occasionally trade the primary for
my octo with OEM mouthpiece (just because I can), I'm always glad to get
back to my Seacure.

Check the last issue of DAN's publication "Alert Diver" (December?). There
is an article in there about headaches related to diving. I don't have it
with me, but I assume there is also a bibliography.

Hard biting on the regulator mouth piece can cause this problem.
