Default About regulators

All current model regulators sold on the U.S. market are excellent. The
differences in how they breathe is minimal. Most companies do not actually
manufacture the regulators they sell. The most expensive model in a line
usually has some added features and pretty cosmetic touches. If you are a
diver who dives for sport and recreation, there is no need to buy the most
expensive regulator. If you dive at depths of 75-100 ft. you might consider
a regulator which is near the top of the line. If you are into hoses you
should look for a first stage with multiple ports to feed your octo,2nd air
inflator, BCD. No matter which brand you buy, you will need to have it
serviced regularly if you dive in salt water. Everyone wants to hear an
opinion about how good a certain brand regulator is, but noone asks about
the valves on the tanks! They are made by only two companies. Have no fear
about purchasing ANY regulator, they are all excellent. P. (NAUI certified
diver 26 years)
