Suggestion 1:
You'll need two. Get the ones with the really, really big magnets and
fasten them firmly to your BCD. Not only will it improve the sound, it will
ensure that nobody has to put up with your underwater music more than once.

Suggestion 2:
Do this someplace other than where I dive.

Look at earphones for UW metal detectors. They probably don't have good
frequency range, but you can at least see how they're made.

I think Oceanic is selling UW MP3 players now. Maybe you can look at
their earphones.
