The Delphi valve had the largest opening of any of the
drysuit valves. That's what made it so fast acting. And,
yes, valves come in different sizes.

In order to replace yours, you need to first cut out the
area under the original valve. We used silicone caulking
compound under the valve and glues will not stick well.
Then, patch the hole. Start by cutting a large patch the
size of the backing piece on the inside and glue it in. Now
you have three thickness of material... the original backing
piece, the body and your patch. Cut two patches the same
size as the old hole and use them to fill in. Now, draw
around the new threads and cut your new hole. The new valve
should hide the patches. If you use a Sitech valve, you
also need to install the gasket ... further hiding the
repair job.
