Did your Sunpak G fail or was it human error that caused it to flood?

Just curious as I am looking for an inexpensive strobe.

How did it flood? How long have you used it?
Did you get flood insurance?

Sorry guys.. just noticed you guys updated this. I only used it once.
I think the main culprit was that there are 2 litle nobby things on
the sides of the battery seal which apparently weren't completely
closed. This is just a guess, so it was human error, but in my view
its poor design. It was a cheap (by Sea&Sea and Ikelite standards). I
ended up buying a Sea and Sea Ys-25DXAuto. Haven't used it yet, but
I'll be diving in New Zealand in a few weeks and if you want a
followup, I'll let you know how it works.

John

Default External Strobe purchase in Oz

Hello all

Im trying to replace my (flooded) strobe that is now no longer
functional that I bought in the US. I paid around $200 for a Sunpak
Gflash which was about half of what the Sea & Sea flashes cost. I was
wondering if anyone knew a similar flash or a less expensive flash I
can buy here in Oz while I'm on holiday so I can continue taking nice
pics.

If you knew of the company name or dive shop/store that would be great

Cheers
John
