Default Creature from the black Lagoon

I just watched this for the second time. The first time was when it came
out.

I noticed one of the divers wearing a typical weight belt of the day. Round
weights either screwed onto or threaded and screwed onto a cotton belt.
Tanks held on by thin cotton straps, no backpack.
Floating dive knife.
Double hose regulator on modified O2 valves.

The weights puzzled me as they were diving with no wet suit in fresh water
until I saw the hero pick up casually the set of doubles he was wearing.
Effortlessly with one hand and the arm partially stretched. They appeared to
be what was worn in the water and must have been very light. Strange. The
diver was neutral in the water as far as I could see.

As a reference a compressed air steel bottle back then was about as heavy as
they are today and it was common to see "converted" CO2 bottles which were
*very* heavy.
