Depending on your deco schedule, having a distraction might be welcome.

especially if said sunset is partially blocked by an even more fetching
bikini.

That's for sure. Even 10 minutes of hanging in the blue with nothing
except plankton and your buddy to look at is pretty boring. And not being
able to hear the tankers going past in the shipping lanes of the English
Channel would be nice, though when they get really close, you can feel
them.

I suppose I wouldn't mind that so much, so long as she had moved on
before the magic moment. Many years ago my favourite place to stay in
Coz was La Ceiba, but not now with the heavy cruise traffic. Nasty
Cruise Ship = Yucatan Sun Block.

Default u/w mp3 player

Has anyone tried these new mp3 players? I read a brief blurb about em in a
local diving paper, and they're sposed to be based on the Iriver device, with
packaging that makes em good to a couple hundred meters. Be intrested in
noing if they sound ok.

While the novelty of it may offer a certain cool factor, I'd be
concerned it would hide the sounds of a fellow diver in trouble. Mind
you, I've not tried one, I might some day just to grind off the novelty
- but there's plenty of time for the cool factor back on the surface -
preferably in a hammock with an incredibly good cigar accompanied by an
adult beverage and a particularly fetching sunset.

The rapid clanking of a dive knife on a tank comes to mind.
