Mind you, I've not tried one, I might some day just to grind off the novelty - but there's plenty of time for the cool factor back on the surface - preferably in a hammock with an incredibly good cigar accompanied by an adult beverage and a particularly fetching sunset. -- jer email reply - I am not a 'ten' "All that we do is touched with ocean, yet we remain on the shore of what we know." -- Richard Wilbur |

Perhaps more importantly, what sound does your dive computer make as an audible warning when you stupidly exceed your (pick one here): max depth low air limit ascent rate deco obligation etc.? .... and will you be able to hear it above the din of (pick another one here) ZZ Top Jimmy Buffet Vivaldi Miles Davis Yani Beastie Boys ... Bart F. PS. Years ago, I used to ski with a walkman until I realized that I was missing the point completely. Same thing with underwater music. Well, to each his own. |

I suppose there are people that just can't stand to be beyond their favourite tunes no matter the consequences. The sounds of solitude while diving are part and parcel to why I get wet in the first place. Although I'll admit, there are rare times when the view is beyond silence. So, if anyone assumes I have an u/w music device, it's more likely just me humming a few bars of a Yanni number, which will persist until my mask starts to leak. :) -- jer email reply - I am not a 'ten' "All that we do is touched with ocean, yet we remain on the shore of what we know." -- Richard Wilbur |

| Jer, Your signature seemed oddly familiar ... "All that we do is touched with ocean, yet we remain on the shore of what we know." -- Richard Wilbur I believe Wilber was paraphrasing another quote: "I don't know what I may seem to the world, but, as to myself, I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the sea shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."
