Many types of nylon are hydrophilic (water loving) and will absorb to some
extent. That is why the better brands of diving torches don't use nylon or
similar plastics, but instead use Delrin (a trademark of DuPont) or similar
Acetyl plastics, which don't absorb water (they have properties nearer to
PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene / Teflon).
