Spoken like a true Microsoft programmer.

If you can't figure it out, you're not very observant.

Probably not.
Zerox PARC started it all.

Most likely we'd not be in the dark ages but still paying $12,000 for a Mac.

$12,000 is interesting.

A friend built a CP/M machine just before Tandy came out twith their
machine.
$12,000 for 64k RAM, 2 8 inch floppy drives, teletypewriter I/O
$12,000 for a similar IBM a few years later with a monochrome display, five
inch floppy drives and a keyboard.

Maximum PC's newest machine is right at $12,000 but is a little more
powerful.

(I paid $2500.00 for my first hard drive which held a massive 5 Mb.)

It seems to work for everybody else and you don't seem to be able to
describe the problem.

My observation would be that it is a problem with you.

I tried it on three different computers. It didn't run on a Mac or on
my Sun.

It didn't run on a Linux box either.

Yeah, my problem for using stable, secure computers.

hmmm... when you go to this website it automatically
loads/installs some new JAVA script or something software on
your computer. A Install 'progress' bar runs for
about 10 seconds in a seperate window the first
time you load/read this webpage. It was so quick
that I didn't get a chance to stop it or check it.

It didn't set off my VIRUS detector or anything.

But I HATE IT when some web page tries to install
ANYTHING on my computer. ESPECIALLY without asking!.

Maybe I didn't have the "latest and greatest" JAVA software
on my computer, but I sure didn't want your website
auto-installing it for me. Or anything else.

It just shows poor design of a website if you have
to install software on the client computer in order
to get the website to work.

As for the Dive Log software, you'll get more people
to download it and try it if your website doesn't
try to load some crap on their system. These days
with Spyware and Adware out all the time, this will
really piss people off.

Hay Kaz. Thats not a bad start. It works fine on my Win2K system. I have a
few thougths about it.

- It started out with a few error messages due to missing database etc.
Perhaps you should convert that to a "First Time Use" help instead? Like a
tutorial that steps you through the startup procedures?

- The Calendar opened blank for me. It had the month and the year, but all
the days are blank. There is one button selected though and if I click on
one of the many squares it actually puts a date in the field. A bit wierd.

- When you resize the main form, it goes fullscreen but the columns don't
adjust. Perhaps you should put the Comments section along the right side and
make it so only the Comments section enlarges when you go fullscreen? The
rest of the colums move to top left corner and stay the same size? The way
it is now, the comments section is too small. This is where the story of the
dive happens, so need lots of space.

- Although you can add a buddy to your buddy list, there doesn't seem to be
anywhere to add him/her to the dive. You should add that.

- The about box moving button made me laugh.. with your big face on there..
hehe

Thank you for providing that.

Doug.
