What I can't figure out is why these companies don't throw in the software
with the hardware. I mean, does kodak charge you for the Photo software?
Does HP charge extra for the fax and print software? So why does Genesis,
Aeris and the rest charge an exhorbitant price for the software?

I think this is gouging. And one day, an enterprising co. will begin to offer
the software for free, and everyone will follow suit. I refuse to pay these
high prices for software that in some cases is just an afterthought.
