You would then have a BCD without pockets and gadgets, something that will adapt to any kind of diving, something that has little drag in the water. For weight, I would get the Weight & Trim 2 from here. http://www.dui-online.com/newsite/bc_wt.htm This is exactly the type of setup I dive with. Very nice. R. |

| wow.. what a nice way for someone, who I am assuming is a diver, to welcome someone to the sport/hobby. Excuse me for my ignorance, but that doesn't lessen the fact that you are arrogant ass and if that is the kind of people that I am going to meet while I am diving , then I rather stay home and watch TV and speak to morons ( like you) on the internet. The dacor line of BCD has several "rigs" in the name of the units. I am new to the hobby and surely wouldn't expect you to be well versed in what I do for a living or as hobbies. your doing a fine job as an ambassador to the sport, keep up the good work, troll. You get credibility in the diving world by diving. Join a dive > club and get wet every weekend. > > Alan Well let me start with this troll v.,n. 1. [From the Usenet group alt.folklore.urban] To utter a posting on Usenet designed to attract predictable responses or flames; or, the post itself. Derives from the phrase "trolling for newbies" which in turn comes from mainstream "trolling", a style of fishing in which one trails bait through a likely spot hoping for a bite. Which as far as I am concerned was your intent on the original post. I might be a newbie to diving, but I am far from being a newbie to the internet. In answer to your question, no I have not bought a BCD yet. I was asking for information on this particular model because I can get an exceptional price on it brand new.Our divemaster/instructor thought it might be a good unit for me considering my height and weight. I am trying to gather some information on equipment and make an educated decision on gear that I don't want to have to replace in 6 months because it is not what I wanted. I don't want anyone to boost my ego and I don't like making rash decisions on equipment that I will entrust with my life. I, like everyone I guess, like to get the most bang for my buck. I don't mind spending the money I need to use, but cant see myself throwing it away needlessly. That being said, I am here to learn. I am doing my open waters next weekend, and will likely use an other rental of a different make and model. Hoping to try a zeagle ranger with back inflate to see if its what I like. And lastly, my intent is to try and get as much diving in as possible. Just the pool dives are awesome and I cant wait to see what the oceans off Nova Scotia have to offer. I already have plans made to do my advanced course in the spring and see what happens from there. my goal is to do some wreck diving in our area. cheers Eric |

Any shop monkey that recommends the rig doesn't have a clue. > That being said, I am here to learn. Fuck the courses. There is a club in Halifax called the Aqualantics. Look them up and go diving. Brian Edmonton, Alberta |
