Short of a truck driving over them, it would seem that it would be really difficult to wear out a 1/8" backplate (whether it is made from aluminum or stainless steel)... Well, using the aluminum one as an impromtu BBQ pit would probably ruin it... I just got through melting the cast aluminum gas grill of mine... I ran it without a regulator a few too many times and I actually had dripping aluminum coming out of it... Major bummer... I'm building a new one out of concrete, cinder blocks, rebar, and bricks 48" grill width, two 36" side portions / tables... Need to get someone to build me a steel lid out of 1/4" or 1/2" plate steel... And a counterweight, I guess... Gonna make one that would make Tim Allen proud... |

Correct. All are difficult to wear out. But that's not the point. The good ones don't come with annoying little perks like slots that cut the webbing, too deep of a "V", stupid plastic shit... Scott makes good ones. That's why I have 3 of his. Brian Edmonton, Alberta www.mossmanscuba.com |
