Olympus PT-020 underwater case problems

That is the plan. Shouldn't be too tough of a job. My faith in
Olympus, on the other hand, is not repairable.

Understandable. I've never had any dealings with Olympus, but I'd be pretty
upset if I was in your shoes too.
