| There is a stick-on magnifying lens called Dive Optx that attaches to the inside of your dive mask and stays on even if the mask floods. It's like contact lenses for your dive mask. Check out www.optxeurope.com. -- Message posted via http://www.scubamonster.com |

| I lost a contact in the swimming pool. It just fell out and was gone. When diving, I wear my gas permeable and have never had a problem. I've got a mustache which causes a little flooding sometimes. A purge valve makes clearing my mask a no brainer. Then again, it isn't hard. I use my old pair (you see better under water so the mismatch doesn't matter.) I have glasses on the boat. As I said, I've never lost one diving. |

| Thanks every one, I have two set of disposable lenses I will be taking. Wasn't sure if the pressure would have a effect on the lenses. Thanks for making this crystal clear as I will see when I dive in warm water 36 hours from now. I've always taken my glasses off and dove with out anything to help with the seeing(except a mask). Thanks again, Paul K. Lathrop "Dr. Yak" <DrYak@nospam.com> wrote in message news:stuVd.35603$755.22026@lakeread05... > I lost a contact in the swimming pool. | I've been wearing gas-perms for 29 years (you know, the $100/lens kind). I've lost four in that time, though I've "upgraded" them more often. I've been wearing them during whitewater kayaking for the last six years, and whitewater canoeing (class IV), including rolling, four years before that, and never lost one in the water. I started scuba in a local pool in December of 2004 and certified and did 19 dives in Cozumel just this past February, wearing my lenses throughout. So you see I've had much more experience in other water sports venues, but I've had no trouble losing contacts in the water in the past, and didn't have trouble while diving. However, I do close my eyes when I flip my kayak, and I had them closed when removing my mask while learning scuba. Also, disposables are out of my realm of experience. Padeen "Paul K. | Hi, New to this group, wondering if any one dives with contacts in or just use perscription lenses in the mask, I have some disposible contacts that I am thinking about using later this week while on vacation. Paul. |

For contact wearers a mask with a purge valve is something to consider. |

| "Mike Painter" <mddotpainter@sbcglobal.net> pounded away at his keyboard resulting in: :They should not be a problem other than the possibility of loosing one or :both if your mask floods. For contact wearers a mask with a purge valve is :something to consider. Why? Dan Bracuk If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
