the direction the slots are angled shouldn't make a Big difference.
But those square slots are cut by laser - you can shave with the edges!!
They'll cut though webbing in no time. You need to take the edge off
with a rotary tool or a small file ect. ( i recommend the rotary tool,
while your at it add a radius to the slot ends.)

Default Backplate webbing

I picked up a second hand blackplate (Portland 2), wing (DR classic) &
harness (Diverite) a couple of weeks ago. The harness was badly frayed, so
I chopped it up, intending to use the D rings and bits with a single piece
of webbing.

So, there I am, looking very confused, comparing Keith Lawrence's backplate

with mine :

Spot the difference? Keith's webbing slots are \ / whereas on the
Portland, they are / \ - and they make a right gash of the webbing if you
try to thread it in the same way.

Does anyone here have a Portland backplate? How did you thread the webbing?
Should I just stick it on eBay?

TIA

Paul
