Default Re: Dacor Extreme Plus - Maintenance options

Another question as of right now the only problem I have is the octo
(Pacer XP) is leaking air and I would assume it would be much easier
just to get another octo than try and have that serviced. With the
Dacor Extreme Plus reg, what brands are compatible LP port thread wise
? I heard that Dacor uses a different thread size on the hose
connections.

Are there certain brands of octos that will not work with the Dacor
extreme plus ? Will the new Dacor octos like the viper work with it ?

Thanks,

I too have the Dacor Extreme Plus, I don't recall any problem with special
fittings when setting it up. Any octo and LP hose should work. I have not
had any problem getting it serviced in the past (Ocean Rock Bohemia NY). Is
there some new problem with parts for these older Dacor Regs? I love my reg
and would hate to have to give it up any time soon!

some of the first stage LP connections are 1/2" instead of 3/8" IIRC,
but that is not a big problem, as 1/2" hoses are readily available.
Dacor used a different fitting on the second stage end of the hose, but
I think the Pacer octo was the only one of that era that used a normal
fitting there. you should be able to use any octo. At worst, you will
have to buy a new hose.

To the OP, the Extreme Plus is a PITA to service (it has 40 O rings in
it), and parts are no longer easy to get. Email me and I can put you in
touch with someone who may be able to service it, but it really is time
for a new reg.
