Umm, this is an event in Canada, right? That's the same Canada where
everybody feels safe and has no need to carry arms?

Am I the only person that finds it funny that people living in Canada, where
I would certainly find the weather a bit chilly, can't bring coats to a swap
meet? Am I the only person that finds it funny that people coming to a swap
meet, a place where they're likely to buy a variety of small items, can't
carry bags to tote them off in?

No doubt you are right Adam. (for once) Up here, we rarely have any event
that doesn't include a coatcheck. This swap, inasmuch as it specifically
excluding coats, will most definitely have a coatcheck at the door.

And Lee, the reason that people aren't allowed to come in with large bags,
is not so that they can't conceal weapons, but to ensure that they don't
walk off with anything not paid for. Mayhap the vendors will be providing
see-through plastic bags for purchases. Your guess is as good as mine.

Regardless, should any nepharious shoplifting scuba enthusiast figure out
how to beat the system, I'm more than reasonably confident that it won't
occur to a soul there, that the perp(s) should have been shot before they
made their escape with the goods.

Yeah, yeah.

That's it.

Right. That's a common practice at malls all over the world, no shopping
bags allowed.

I've lived here all my life and I've never seen that.

It was common in shops frequented by students.

So... what? In Canada a guy goes in to rob a liquor store the clerk
politely asks him to put the loot in a clear plastic bag? Eh?

BTW, our Right to Bear Arms in the USA was intended to insure that the
people run the government instead of the other way around. Heck, we can
even watch Fox News Channel here if we want to!
