Thanks for all of the references and ideas everyone. I appreciate it. I
think I may have tracked down some trim pockets at a local dive shop here in
NH but haven't gotten to them yet. Once again, thanks.

Got it! DiveRite makes "slate pockets" which hook onto any standard webbing
with a loop in the back. I've slid two of these onto my tank band (one on
each side of the tank of course) and have put 4 pounds into each of them.
They close with a velcro flap and look like they'll do the job nicely.

Thanks again all.

Default Looking for trim weight pouches

Hi All:

I'm looking to move some of my weight behind me. Ideally, I'd like to put
some of it on pouches that mount on the tank strap. Are such pouches
available?

(I had a loaner BC (which had trim pockets in the back) while mine was being
repaired and I'd like to accomplish the same thing with my BC (which doesn't
have such pockets.)

Temporarily, I've cable tied two 2-pounders to my tank strap but would like
to be able to add/remove the weights as I change between wet and dry suits.

Thanks in advance.

Try a stainless steel backplate, and go from there. you're on the path.

€ Halcyon and Dive Rite both make them. I suspect there are others as well.

I use these for weight pockets on my harness belt:

Other people I know use ankle weights around the tank.

You might like to take a look at these weights which are designed to
mount directly on the tank:

Alan, the pockets at the link you provided look interesting, but I didn't
see anything about price or ordering. Do you happen to have further
information or do I have to track it down myself? I find the removable
pouches to be particularly interesting. When I wear any weight at all, I
wear it between my plate and knife on each side. To ensure everything stays
put, both the pouches and the knives are behind D rings. It would be handy
to be able to remove the pouches when I don't need them without removing the
Buckle, D rings and knives.

Here's a DIY alternative, although it might not be as versatile as the
pouches.

It's simply an old bcd strap with a slide-on weight or two. I use this
strap with a single 6-lb weight in the winter when I need extra weight
to counteract extra drysuit insulation. It slides onto the tank just
above my pony bottle bracket, then my bcd slides on. The buckle is
secured closed by tire tube material, just for good measure.

A shortened weight belt and buckle could be used as well.

It's nice not having that extra weight on my waist.

I'll probably get a back plate sometime to achieve a similar effect.

Dave
