Hmm, bet they work great. Wet wool is well known for its excellent
insulating properties.

Wool is one of the few natural materials that keeps its insulating
properties when wet. Excellent may be a bit of an overstatement - although
it's probably intended as sarcasm.

Wet is one thing, completely immersed in water is another. Only air gaps
are insulating - the rest is just marketing. Now polar bear fur, being
hollow, might actually have some benefit. Although it would still lose
insulation with depth as it compressed.

I don't know how you'd get them to stay with you for a whole dive.
