You use the Vytec, the Vyper cannot use the wireless AI transmitter.

Vytecs used to be quite pricy compared to Vypers (if you didn't need
the extra features), but now you can get them for a very reasonable
price because of the introduction of Vytec DS.

After researching the different algorithms I chose Suunto.

That was the deciding factor for me too.

I gather the recall didn't affect you?

I don't think its the "round up" bit - - I think I'm thinking of this
last one (the extra conservatism if your dive exceeds 1.4 PPO2 for the
proverbial picosecond).

I'm getting a bit tired of the sum of all of the conservatisms...time
to shop around for someone who still does batteries in the old USD
Monitor's.

Both of mine were done a few years ago by Force E in Broward County. Check
to see if they still do them and, if they do send them to me. I'd be happy
to get them in and out for you. Hell, for the same price, I'd sell you my
two Monitor I units.

One is a snake, the other an insect.

€ And Vyper vs MOSQUITO ?

One is big, easy to read, and is a dedicated dive instrument. The other
is small, styish, doubles as a wristwatch, and is somewhat harder to
read underwater. They're essentially the same computer in different
packages.

Nope, mine is far older than the affected batch.
