| First of all, please switch to use a newsreader program that does indentation ! It is VERY annoying to read your posting, when it is not easy to se what you wrote and what someone else wrote. I would suggest you start to study deco theory, there is not algorithm that is accurate ! ALL OF THEM are approximations. As i wrote to you earlier there are way to many factors not in the equation for it to be accurate ! go to www.google.com and search for deco algorithms. > > So a conservative profile i would say is better than one that is not. > > Your choice. Please read what i write 'when diving' that does not mean i wont dive. It sounds to me as you cant/wont accept that other dives didn't have any problems with using a non vytec suunto computer on a liveaboard, and didnt get their dives shortened by using them. If you don't like suunto for some reason, no problem, but remember that does not mean everybody else don't like them as well > > Lee > > -- Best regards C.T.O. It is VERY annoying to read your posting, when it is not easy to se what you wrote and what someone else wrote. How about you switch to one that indents properly? Mine works for others. >> The question is not whether the Suunto line will handle situations when >> it calculates you have exceeded your no deco limit but, rather, whether >> you really have exceeded your limit when it says you have. > > I would absolutely prefer a computer that tells me i am at deco now, > before i actually am, compared to a computer that tells me to late. > > How about one that tells you accurately? I would suggest you start to study deco theory, there is not algorithm that is accurate ! ALL OF THEM are approximations. If you think it's all an approximation, I would suggest you learn how to calculate MOD. > Your choice. I'll see you when I return to the surface, long after you've > ascended. 'long after' hehehe, no way. Yes way. You see, I've done the comparison I suggested to you. I know what the results were. You're still guessing. Any time you want a demonstration, come on over, cupcake. I'll be more than happy to show you just how wrong you are. > My colleges, did use vytec, vyper, vr3, aladin, mares, and i would guess > every other computer on the market (there are MANY dive > guides/instructors in Sharm el Sheikh.) and none of them ever did talk > about having to little dive time when guiding or teaching. > > Could that possibly be because they were ascending with whoever needed to > ascend first? On the first few dives with new guests yes, after that i was normally always last. Often very close to deco, still no problems. Very close to what your computer shows as deco. Not at all close to what every set of tables I know of shows. It sounds to me as you cant/wont accept that other dives didn't have any problems with using a non vytec suunto computer on a liveaboard, and didnt get their dives shortened by using them. It sounds to me like you are in denial. You're welcome to use whatever you like. Have you done the comparisons I suggested? Until you have, I suggest your opinion lacks credibility. Lee |

Especially the set of Chilean Navy tables that I have somewhere... 15 mins at 90m with no deco ;-> |

I was looking for one of those 3 : : Suunto Vyper (with cable) : : Scuba pro Aladin tec (with IR) : : Scuba pro Aladin prime (with IR) I have and prefer the Suunto D9 wich includes an USB cable (most other forces you to use a serial port or an IR interface). It's much more expensive, but I like that it has a build in compass and that it also looks good as a watch. Check out http://www.suuntocampaigns.com/D9/ for more info about the D9. martin -- Martin Törnsten - http://martin.tornsten.com/ _________________________________________ Usenet Zone Free Binaries Usenet Server More than 140,000 groups Unlimited download http://www.usenetzone.com to open account |

Do you have any idea if the D9 can talk to the vytec transmitter ? I am planning to get me D9, but in the beginning i would prefer not to have to buy another transmitter. -- Best regards C.T.O. It's *exactly* the same as the one who comes with the Vytec. : I am planning to get me D9, but in the beginning i would prefer not to : have to buy another transmitter. It won't be any problem. They work interchangeably (same Suunto part/spare number as well). martin -- Martin Törnsten - http://martin.tornsten.com/ _________________________________________ Usenet Zone Free Binaries Usenet Server More than 140,000 groups Unlimited download http://www.usenetzone.com to open account |
