Scuba must be a tough sport when you need a knife for training dives. How
many trainees were killed?

actually, an even more cynical way to look at it is "predatory dive shop
owner sells naieve SCUBA enthusiast all sorts of gear he will never need" -
that's more truthful - until you've done it a while you don't know what you
need, and a good salesman will convince you to get all sorts of stuff
"because you will need it" - and then it sits around unused.

anyway, the knife sold (quickly) for $20 - I have another three - I don't
need more than one or two, so if one of you folks would like one, fetch my
email address from my web site (wbnoble.com) and get in touch - you can't
reply to this post, I use a bogus e-mail address in all NG posts to reduce
spam. (oh, and yes, using a bogus email address really does reduce spam -
it takes about 6 or 7 months though)

I have the rest of the dive equipment I got for my daughter (who says she
will never dive again) - I haven't put it up for auction yet - there's a
"Captain" dive computer that has never been in the water (fits in console,
replaces depth gauge), an octapus that was used only for her training dives,
a BC, and I think some gloves - this stuff can go too, to the right person,
(for a price )

Nothing predatory about it. He simply provided you with what you were
willing to buy. No doubt you thanked him.

Idle curiosity why won't your daughter dive again? Although I would be
interested in knowing more about the gear.
