| <groupsaccount101@gmail.com> wrote http://www.jackets.it/doc2.htm ? I've not dove one. I certainly would before buying one. I suspect that the wing would not work well with a single tank. Note the location of the inflator hose connection. With twins, it's between the tanks, no problem. With a single, it would be against the tank. It looks like, at best, it would force the top of the wing into the back of your head. Other observations are: 1. This is not a circular wing. Gas can be trapped in one side of the other depending on what part of the wing is highest. If you are head down, the gas can't flow from one side to the other. That's how my 18lb Halcyon is too. I've adapted and don't mind the feature, but wings like this are not popular with everyone. 2. I'd consider the "proprietary" plate closely before buying one of these. One of the nice features of most plate and wing combinations is that they are interchangeable. I can swap my Halcyon wings (I have two and may be buying another soon) between my stainless steel and aluminum plates and can mix and match brands of plates and wings specifically because they are all compatible. What you are considering may not be. Lee |

What you are considering may not be. I agree with Lee. This is clearly NOT designed/intended for use with a single tank. I also think that the complicated thingy they are using in place of a simpl plate is way over-engineered. It looks like it has about half a dozen conections that might be prone to fail. I don't see any advantage to this coplexity. If you're looking for a backplate/wing setup, I suggest looking at http://www.diverite.com. On line sales at http://www.diveriteexpress.com -- Charlie Hammond -- Hewlett-Packard Company -- Ft Lauderdale FL USA (hammond@not@peek.ssr.hp.com -- remove "@not" when replying) All opinions expressed are my own and not necessarily my employer's. |

Tina just got an Eclipse 30, looks pretty good to me. Maybe overkill, and a bit pricey, but what do they sell that isn't? -- Art Greenberg artg at eclipse dot net |

Maybe overkill, > and a bit pricey, but what do they sell that isn't? It was doubles wings. They cheapened the outside cover, and they use only one size bladder lift in all of the wings; only the outside cover is in different sizes. The seams in the outside cover have problems- I was diving with an ex-GUe instructor and 1800 feet back in a cave when his brand-new-first-time-in-the-water wing came apart for no reason. He was a dealer, and told me that he had several of the newer wings fail the same way. Maybe it was apropblem that has been fixed, but I would at least ask about it before I bought any more wings from them. All of my wings are their old ones, when they were made in Ft Lauderdale, and I have been more than happy with them. |
