What are the top 5 regs?
Me (and I know I will get flack) dive with Poseidon Odin as my primary
and a DS4/TX50 (Zeagle, but rebadged Apeks) on my second post.
Since I have this setup, I can compare the TX50 and the Odin at the same
depth (usually deeper end of recreational limits. I also compared them
at 180'). For me, hands down, the Poseidon Odin. Sure, it costs more to
have serviced (but I know someone), but I love the way it breaths. You
could be a Hoover Upright vac and not over breath this reg. Yeah.. I
know, you can't service it under water, but I really don't care. Just be
careful at around 500psi... as any Odin diver knows.

Default atomic regulators

Sure, I know most of you people prefer Apeks, but what is the opinion on
Atomic regulators?

We prefer a variety of regulators, including, but a long way from being
limited to Apeks.

Atomic regulators appear to be high quality, high performance regulators,
but are not the least expensive high quality, high performance regulators on
the market.

There's also some concern, apparently pretty well founded, with using
titanium regulators with high pressure, high partial pressures of oxygen,
such as those used for accelerated decompression. As far as I know, they
have not proved to be a problem with normal recreational mixes (less than
40% O2). I suggest you research this issue a bit to see how it affects
diving you may eventually do before you make a final choice. If you settle
on Atomic, you may find you are better served by one that does not have a
titanium first stage . . . or not.

They aren't as good as Apeks

Atomic always comes out in the top group in regulator
tests done by the magazines. I had a chance to try the
Atomic before I upgraded; Disney's Divequest uses Atomic T2
regulators. They breathed easy and dry.
I didn't think that the advantages of titanium outweighed
the disadvantages (potential hazard w/ high O2 and a much
higher price). I went with the M1, and have been happy
with it.
Some not insignificant factors were the service interval
and warranty. The service interval is two years, not one.
Unlike most of its competitors, Atomic doesn't void the
warranty if you fail to get your scheduled periodic service
done.

Just for fun though! I myself dive Mares MR22 with Abyss (double set). I
love them, they've proven reliable.
