Specs look good for that camera, including being able to focus as close
as 7 cm in super macro. You'll find that very nice.

The case has been popular for many years. Two of my diving friends are
completely happy with that case.

Can't help there, but my lesser Olympus 4040 produces good uw shots for
me. A buddy's lesser Olympus Stylus takes great shots.

I just looked at a picture of the combo and I think the diffuser screen
in front of the flash. I don't think Olympus would block the flash.

I'd say you can probably expect fairly good macro illumination, with
the expected backscatter problem of head-on flash, but don't expect
much illumination beyond a couple meters, if it's like my Oly 4040, or
my buddy's Oly Stylus.

Look for a recent thread on this forum called Look Ma, No Flash. I
recently ventured into the world of natural light photography with
varying results.

Also, if you are going to buy the housing at a bricks and mortar
store, put the camera into the housing and see if your fears about the
flash being blocked are well founded. If they are, go for another
brand where that doesn't happen. When you get right down to it, they
are all good cameras.

That reminds me of a book in my photography library. The name is
"Existing-Light Photography". It's part of the Kodak Workshop Series.
While it doesn't discuss underwater photography specifically it does provide
many useful tips and concepts that apply directly to underwater shooting.
