Default TUSA Liberator BC question

I have a TUSA BC. I want to clean the inflation-button area of dried salt
etc as it stuck open on me last week (on dry land).

I can remove the rubber cover by unscrewing the hold-down button ok and then
I am faced with the metal plunger. I can't see behind that.

At the other end of the apparatus, about 5cm away, is a screw cover which
can easily be undone by a coin or a kitchen knife end.

My question is: If I undo that, does all sorts of hell break loose and
springs etc fly out or does it come apart smoothly. I am concerned because
obvious something makes the inflation button return to "off" after I've
finished pressing it and I don't want that something to go spronging off
into the wide blue yonder.

I can't really recall. My suggestion would be to call the local
diveshop and ask them how much for a complete replacement assembly for
the whole power inflator & hose.

Once you have the price, decide how much "kitchen table" time its
worth to you to try to DIY.

That is a good idea. May even get to update as a by-product.

Its the lazy man's way

A bit more seriously, I find that its not really worth my time farting
around to fix the small, cheap stuff: if I have a bolt snap get
frozen up, I go down to the hardware store and buy two
replacements...total cost $3. And so on. I try to save my time/
attention for things that would be expensive to bring in a repairman
for ... I did a DIY diagnosis & repair on my irrigation system last
week.
