Agreed.

The general opinion is that its because Nikon doesn't have a full
frame dSLR to compete with it. As such, they'll hold off of releasing
a new 5D until Nikon tips their hand as to what they're going to
compete against it with. In the meantime, amortization of development
costs allows them to keep nibbling down the retail price, which
ultimately makes it harder for Nikon to compete.
