Where to get certified in australia?!

Hey guys... Im visiting australia from Canada and I have done a couple intro dives up in Cairns. I absolutely loved them and now i am hoping to find the Cheapest spot to get certified! I am living in Melbourne until the end of May but then I will be traveling back up the coast, as well as Perth, Bali & Fugi. I was wondering if anyone knows of some inexpensive places to get certified? I have heard June will be a good month to do it, what should I be expecting to pay... I heard in Sydney its about $300ish??

I ask many people this question. Why spend a chunk of your vacation in a class that you can do before you go? It might be cheaper and you wont get hit by the tourest scams. First of all when you go to a dive shop or tour company 99% of the time they quote you the price of the course NOT A FULL CERT!!! they are not lieing to you but they are not telling you the full story. Also they charge people from out of town/country more so be very careful.

I have been in the industry a while and managed diveshops.
