| Hi everybody. I'm trying to figure out which light/torch I should buy. I have surfed the net looking for recommandations, but I find it hard to "translate" the technical specifications into how the lamp will "feel" in the water. This is the reason why I would like to hear your experiences. I would like your recommandations as far as brands, models, and where I can find them at the best price. I have set up the following guidelines for my choice: 1. Primarily, I dive in Denmark. Wrecke dives, no penetration. 2. There has to be enough power in the battery for at least two dives. 3. I'm thinking about taking up underwater photography. If possible, I would like a lamp, that can elimate the need for a flash. Is that possible and if so, what light would you recommend? 4. Which brand would you recommend? I have looked at the Danish manufacturer Z-light (http://www.z-light.dk/). Does anybody have any experience with their products? I have also looked at Green Force, Treble Light and Kowalski. What would you prefer? 5. Would you go for a canister light (one with an umbilical) or a more traditional design and why? Please share your experiences. My current light is a pistol-grip plastic thing, that is so positively boyant that you have to wrestle with it in order to take it with you down. Furthermore, the light is dim and uneven. Finally, the light goes out when you get to 13 meters! I should say that I'm not very handy, so builing it myself is not an option unless you know how to transform a guy with ten thumbs into a fullblooded metalworker ;o) Best regards and thanks in advance Peter Braun Denmark |
