Default SUUNTO STINGER -- pc interface

Greetings,

I am trying to transfer dive data from my new Stinger to my PC.

The first problem is that the instruction speak of setting up the
interface.....but do not say how the watch/computer is supposed to sit
in the craddle. The craddle has a 3-pin contact face, but nowhere on
the Stinger do I see a similar set of interface. The only thing that
looks remotely similar is a one-dimple point that the user manual
describes as the water contact sensor. No diagram is provided.
Searching online, I found an advertisement with a photo of the watch
siting in the craddle and "appears" to be in an orientation using the
"water contact sensor" as the contact point. But its difficult to
tell.

Question 1: Does anyone know how the watch is supposed to sit in the
craddle??

The next problem is that my PC doesn't seem to even recognize the
craddle is attached to the COM1 serial port....or any port for that
matter. The instruction say to attach it to the serial port without
the watch in the craddle and then press TEST on the interface window
so that the software can direct the computer to search for the
craddle. I get the "Your computer did not find the interface on any
port" error message no matter which of the 4 serial ports I use.

The instructions mention something about needing to short two pins
together for the EON style craddle......but don't say what that is. I
assume since I don't know what it is, I don't have one. But I tried
shorting the pins anyway and still got no positive results.

Question 2: Does anyone know how to get the craddle to be recognized
by a Win200 PC???

I searched online and found a few USENET posts that speak of trouble
with this interface......but unfortunately for me, they were posted in
German and Swedish....

I've been working this problem for a while now and have already lost
info out of the watch from my dives this weekend that are over 36
hours old.

Assitance is GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks!
