Default A wing that does it all...or not?

Hello to all,

Being a 1st time poster, I hesitate to stir up this, ever constant,
debate...but I'm close to making a decision on a new back plate/wing
setup and have one final issue to resolve.

Having looked at the OMS and Halcyon back plates with the single piece
of webbing, both look to be about the same. The real difference appears
to take shape when looking at what either manufacturer offers in wings.

I plan to start off with a fair amount of single tank diving and
eventually, as training progresses, move into double tank dives.
Correct me if I'm wrong (almost a certainty) but if I go with
Halcyon, I'm looking at purchasing two sets of wings as opposed to
OMS that has wings that accommodate both configurations.

I can understand the concept where a wing that has been designed for a
particular configuration will perform the best; however, many divers
seem to be using a wing that will support both.

I also understand that as I progress with training and start going
deeper, staying longer and pushing the limits, I will not be able to
avoid investing in multiple dedicated setups...nor would I want to.
However, as a rec diver moving towards the technical end of the sport,
it would be helpful to keep my purchases to a minimum.

Thanks to all who respond!

DaveB
