| I will be traveling to Tulamben in June for a few days and was wondering if there are any places to just rent some tanks and weights and go in off the beach WITHOUT a guide. Have all other equipment. Thanks for any info in advance. Steve............................................. ....................... |

| You can rent tanks / weights from 'Paradise Bungalows' (no website) at Tulamben. As always, scratch 'n' sniff first. You may want to rent a guide too. They cost very little, you're diving from their beach, and they have basically no other chance of income. They know the sites like the back of their hands and can certainly show you stuff you would never find otherwise (Pygmy Seahorse etc). |

| I agree with Bali-Freak. Plus the dive entry point is 400 yards down a rocky beach and the dive operators will have your gear transported down the beach by some ladies. They are amazing. They sometimes carry two sets of gear on their head down this rocky beach and they do it for pennies. You will see a good selection of creatures including ghost pipe fish (if you have a guide to find it for you). Have fun...Next time try a trip to Komodo.
