| Not specifically, no, but I was just in Roatan for the first time and if I were to stay in West End, I would probably choose something on Half Moon Bay as it seemed just a little bit quieter. crs wrote: > Anyone have any first hand info on Half Moon Bay Cabins > in West End, Roatan? > |

The party area isat the far west of it. HMB cabins are at the far eastern end. That meansthey are quieter but still within walking distance to the action. the rooms are basic but kept up. The food is good but their are many restaurants and bars nearby if you want something else. If I was staying in West End, it would be my first choice. |

I should add that the setting is quite beautiful, with jungle like growth everywhere. Also, it is a perfect place to watch the sunset and located a short walk from one of the best restaurants in the area . . the Argentinean Grill. Take a flashlight for finding your way back after dark. |

I've never been there. I'm just trying to > be helpful. No flaming intended. The beach at West Bay is far superior to anything found around Westend. Regardless, it is somewhat isolated from the action. You can get back and forth all day by water taxi for 30 lempira a trip (about $2) or take a vehicle taxi for the usurous amount of $10. Then it can be difficult to get a taxi back to Westend. The problem with staying at West Bay but wanting to dine/party in Westend, is the water taxis quit around 5:30 pm. At least 3 days a week, the cruise ships unload the pod people and they are all hanging out at the beach of West Bay. Of course, they are also walking all over Westend, but they wouldn't be hanging out down at Halfmoon Bay Cabins. |
