| According to the Rudy Benner descending countdown program . . . 18 days!!!! I'm going crazy again, too much to do before departure, too little time. Family wanting to come and stay, other family needing serious surgery. Two classes a week in Spanish has taught me that I don't know much Spanish and instructing a college course one night a week in my own discipline, lots of work for the clients, hasn't left me much time for all the other things in life than need to be taken care of prior to departure. Still no weight loss to help me into my smaller hotweather clothes and now not enough time to meet my goals in that regard. I suppose if I'd quit partying so much on the few evenings I have free, I'd not be in such a bind but it's been a lot of fun. Too bad I couldn't convince myself that tax prep, exercise and home organization were of primary concern. I shall have to incorporate a bit more discipline into my schedule and see if that's of any help at all. Ya like that will actually happen. 18 days!!!!! Yahoo!! Until the yahoo sisters show their faces in West End again. I hope they are ready for us too. I can't seem to pass a dollar store without picking up a bunch toys, soothers, rattles, crayons, coloring books, silly pens, etc. to pass out to the kids in French Harbor and Punta Gorda. Our plans are to make the day trip island tour early in the week so that we aren't too run down. The last time we took toys to the kids, was an absolute mob scene and I was suffering from tourista which made it all that much more interesting. I must learn how to say in Spanish "Get in line" "one at a time" and "be good". Hopefully, that will help out a bit. Kalina says if it gets too rough, we'll just throw everything out the window of 'el carro' and let the melee begin. I'd like to do the zipline canopy tour again, but probably won't have time to fit it in, since this trip is only a week long. I'm trying to remember when I last did a one week trip. Oh yes, of course, the diving . . .with some great luck we'll catch sight of a whale shark, since it is the time of the full moon. I hope to have another encounter or two with live dolphins and I'm particularly looking forward to the eel garden and the sailfin blennies' signalling one another. And dare I wish for another pair of mating burrfish? Sigh. See ya at the airport Rudy. |

Those 7 hours 2 minutes and 10 seconds are going to make all the difference for me. ;^) By the way, the link in your other post doesn't work. |

My website? www.rudybenner.com ? Could be I was editing it, although I doubt that would be the problem. My carcass is currently 268#, 5 ' 11". |

Why dontcha bring stuff they really want, like candy and cigarettes? Burmese urchins didn't want candy, but they sure smoke a lot. > Our plans are to make the day trip island tour early in the week so that > we > aren't too run down. True, but you are going to meet the president this weekend and tell him what's what. > > I can't seem to pass a dollar store without picking up a bunch toys, > > soothers, rattles, crayons, coloring books, silly pens, etc. to pass out > > to > > the kids in French Harbor and Punta Gorda. > > Why dontcha bring stuff they really want, like candy and cigarettes? > Burmese urchins didn't want candy, but they sure smoke a lot. Oh, didn't I mention the candy? And actually, most of the kids don't need any candy but they are going to get some anyway. But the babies need the soothers and all the kids need a neat toy or two . . .and every one of them will be happy with the crayons, scribblers, pens, etc. The biggest hit last trip were the pens that looked like birds made with fuzzy feathers. I couldn't find any this time, so I've got some of those LCD pens, that light up a little figure on the end, when you depress the tip to write. I got some others that are funky colors and have feathers and hearts or stars on top. They wobble. :^) I know I'm not going to have enough. I probably shouldn't be bringing anything but those crazy pens. However, I couldn't stop myself, so I also bought some weird and colorful pencils and some bunnies that look a bit like Bugs, but are all bendy like gumby . . .and then, I just had to get some of those weird ball shaped things that light up and blink when you squeeze them. Uh oh, come to think of it, I might have been wrong about the pens. Maybe I should have gone strictly with the blinky ball thingies. Still, ya gotta have something for the babies. I know, cuz last time I was handing out toys, some of the parents asked me if I had anything for their babies . . .I did, but not near enough. > > > Our plans are to make the day trip island tour early in the week so that > > we > > aren't too run down. Babies love cigarettes. >> Comportense > > OK, don't know that one. Does it mean something like "comport yourself > properly"? It means behave. Asking them to be good is too much to ask for, especially since you just gave them cigarettes. |
