I've always heard wonderful things about this operation. Unfortunately, most all of the dive shops on the island charge $30/dive, when doing one or two dives only. Rates drop as your number of dives increase. Within my experience, it is the norm on Roatan for the boats NOT to supply/carry water, unlike boats in Belize, for example. On Roatan, I've always had to take my own water on board. This may be different at dedicated dive resorts like Cocoview or Bay Islands Beach Resort. I've only done a couple of dives with those resorts and can't recall if they supplied water on the boat or not. That you had to pay in advance is very odd. Were you off of a cruise ship? I didn't understand your reference to the dive shop being only two containers. I will tell you this though, most of the dive shops I've experienced in West End, Roatan aren't as big as that. :^) |
