Default Grand Komodo Dive Tours

Has any one on this forum dove with this dive operation in Indonesia ?
I would be interested in the quality of the whole operation and your
experience with diving around Komodo . Thank you

I dived with Grand Komodo last June 2003

I would definately recommend diving with Grand Komodo.

Their staff are friendly and knowledgable about the dive sites. Their boats,
the Temu Kira and Tarata are comfortable and spacious. The diving needless
to say is spectacular.

You can get more details at their website - http://www.komodoalordive.com or
you can contact Mrs. Tri at this e-mail address - gkomododot@indosat.net.id

I would also recommend a half -day land tour to Komodo Island to see the
Dragons and perhaps another land tour to wander around Labuhan Bajo ( Flores
Island )

Van

Van , I have booked the Komodo trip this year and just wanted to hear
from someone who has dove the boat ,Temu Kira . Do you have any
pictures you can email me of the boat ? How was the food , staterooms
? How difficult was the diving ? I am hearing about down currents and
the like . I have camera equipment . Is their plenty of room for our
gear ? How much room for our suit cases in our stateroom ? The web
site is good but does not show enough of the boat . Did you see any
manta's or whale shark's ? My wife and I are looking forward to this
trip . Thank you for any information you have time to share . dawhale

Dawhale, I haven't been on Temu Kira. I did the liveaboard "M/Y
Pelagian" which is owned by Dive Asia Pacific. There were some strong
down currents and even updwells too. But in some spots, there was
little to no current at all. We went in July and did not see any
mantas or whale sharks. If you haven't seen 'flashlight fish', ask the
DM about them. They glow in the dark, and obviously you need to go on
a night dive then...but they are very cool to spot. I agree with the
other poster here who replied to you and told you to take a day trip
to the island of Kimodo. If you do, bring cash to buy your wife some
of the pearls that the local merchants peddle there. She'll like them.
:) Have a good trip !!
