Some of the most accessible diving and snorkelling is in Bali, which is
also good place for non-diver (lots of other things to do). There are
so many different diving & snorkelling sites here.

Lombok (specifically the 'Gili Islands') used to have good snorkelling
but now sadly most of the coral their is bombed out. The marine life is
still good there though, with lots and lots of sharks and turtles, just
about every dive.

Komodo has good diving, but is best done from a liveaboard so maby not
so good for a non-diver.

I've never dived any other places in Indonesia except the three above,
but hear Alor, Flores and East Timor all have good diving. Again, I
think Alor and Flores are best done as LOBs though East Timor has shore
based dive centres.

Hope this helps.

Indonesia is a big area, but is probably the best place onm the planet for
diving.......i guess you could find a poor spot but your luck would have
to be out for you to do that.

get out the map and take a Pin.........

I'm off there myself in two weeks........

Batam comes to mind (or the other little islands of the Riau
archipelago around Batam). Relatively poor visibility and pretty strong
currents. Still, it's better than the waters around Singapore
