Default Manado tasik ria

Am planning a trip to Manado at end of july, staying at the Tasik Ria resort
and diving with eco divers.

Anyone got any feedback of resort or dive providers?

How does tasik ria compare with Murex dive resort.

Nick

I've been in Manado at Tasik Ria during August 1999 (ok it's a long time
ago, but I don't think it is changed) and I can only inform you about the
hotel because the at that time the diving center was different.
The resort was very good: good organization, very kind staff (especially the
barman into the swimmingpool) and good food (I like chinese and oriental
food: a couple of time they tried to cook "spaghetti" and it has been
orrible) and they also make a barbeque dining with pork chop.
The rooms are big with little living-room, big bathroom with bathtub and big
bedroom; anyway here you can find some information www.tasikria.com.
As regards the diving center I'm sorry but I can't tell you anything, but
about diving in Bunaken marine park I can assure you that the full-day dives
are fantastic (I saw my first hammerhead shark, my first mandarin fish and
my first and only pygmy seahorse).

Bye Bye
Simonetta

Went to Tasik Ria in Sept 1999 hotel was excellent and the dive boats
basic.But diving excellent.
Returned in Sept 2001, hotel management had changed not as good , but dive
boat and operators better.Diving still excellent.
Now has Red Sea style dayboats Very comfortable.
One advantage that Tasik Ria has over Murex is that it is further away
from the dive sites around Manado Tua/Bunaken!!!!
Why an advantage? Well because with around an hours cruise time after
breakfast to enjoy, last time we visited we were rewarded with pods of
200-300 Spinner dolphins , many Tens of Pilot whales AND a group of Killer
Whales! Two adults and a calf.

I don't think you will experience this if you take the 5 minute boat
ride from Murex to the dive sites.!
