Only if they get the daiquiri bars reopened. Otherwise I'm heading to Lee's house where I'll squat in his outside bar (as soon as he gets the screens replaced). If he doesn't notice me, with American's generous adverse possession laws, after 10 years I'll own the place. |

I'm sure I want to see a nuclear terrorist attack prevented just as much as you do. I just wonder if alienating the entire arab world and turning Iraq into a terrorist breeding ground was the best way to go about it. -- The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread. - Anatole France. |

Nawh, turning the entire Arab world into a big glowing ember would be the best way... A bit of money would have to be spent on overcoming the bad PR that it might bring, but it would still be a lot cheaper than our current methodology... Damn, for some reason, George never wants to consult me on foreign policy... |

Unfortunately I've seen the results of using 'moral fortitude' to make decisions. Such as the Western country with the most 'moral' approach to the question of teenage sex also having the highest teen pregnancy rates. See if you can guess which it is. -- The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread. - Anatole France. |

Aren't you commenting on geopolitical decisions that someone of you will never, has never, and... well you probably would make ? We're all armchair saviours around here... And countries like Canada are needed, in bunches, to influence the 800 pound gorrilla in the room. We did make a geopolitical decision not to get involved in Bush's ill-planned, ill-justified invasion and in my opinion that was not a minor event. If the Brits and US can't get little brother Canada to sign up, well it can't be much of a plan. There are other countries on their way up, the US ain't going to be the only hyper power for ever. Katrina has shown the US is just as vulnerable as any other country and it's fortunes can change pretty quickly. Witness the fact that we might finally get a fair shake on softwood now that the rebuilding needs so much of it. http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/nation..._20050913.html > > Kinda like the guy that hands out buckets of ball at a driving range > commenting on Tiger Wood's swing. > > > > >> You can state, as one here did "There Are No Terrorists In Iraq" with a > >> straight face, or say that Iraq posed no threat to the U.S., then > >> criticize the administration for failing to prevent an attack. > > > > >> You can say, as the democrats here do, that we should have left Hussein > >> in power and luxury while starving the Iraqi populace until he -finally- > >> found a way to attack us or start a nuclear exchange with the Israelis. > >> > >> That's why no one is interested in your ignorance. > > > > You really need to learn to think in shades of grey instead of black and > > white.
