Still, now that she's bene convicted, think bin Laden will put Zharqawi (or
however you spell it) on trial for murdering prisoners?
Not stripping, not humiliating - murdering.

Of course not.

I'm thinking zealot fucktard terrorists probably don't hold themselves
up to the same standards as the US Armed Forces....

Do you think it was really just some nutball reservists at this or is
the "treatment" policy from above? I'm not too concerned about the
humiliated but it's pretty sad if that's what the US Army is
instructing it's soldiers to do now.

Well, depending upon whom you ask, their God says it's OK to murder
thousands in the name of Allah, including innocent women and children, even
other Islamics. Last bombing they pulled off in Iraq used a woman as a
suicide mule for the explosives, so at least they are being progressive in
their gender roles...

Shit, you can even be required to shoot your little sister to death if she
"shames" your family, according to some of their weird laws;

From the religion of peace and light!

I think it was some not-too-smart people that were allowed to get out of
control, combined with the fact that very similar tactics and "tortures" are
used in current day SERE training. I can tell you that 1st phase of basic
training for the Marine Corps in 1978 was a lot more harsh than anything
these fucktard terrs have had to endure, so they get little sympathy from
me. Most of them should be very happy to be alive.

I met an old jarhead last week who did it ten years before I did, and he
asked me "Did the last guy off the bus get his ass kicked?" (referring to
the bus full of recruits that pulls up in front of the recruit depot, and
the subsequent events that are your introduction to the Drill Instructors) I
assured him that was the case, and we both had a good laugh.

Bottom line is that the "abuse" was reported by Americans, and the guilty
have been prosecuted and are being punished.

Anyone stupid enough to be photographed as England and the others were
deserves an ass kicking at best, but I also think that there should have
been some brass shirts busted up as well.

Why?

When a bit more professionally done, it's excellent low impact
interrogation for Muslim males.

Of course not. However, the abuse at Abu Ghraib was said to inflame the arab
street".
Ne'er a thought to how posting video of the beheading of innocents would
"inflame" their enemies (us)?

I'm all for the tactics if they're being professionally done with a
goal in mind. Calling humiliation "abuse" is a little silly in a war
IMO. It's the way the story is presented as a bunch of stupid soldiers
humiliating prisoners for a laugh. It should be hard for the guards to
do this sort of thing and she looked like she was having a lark.

IIRC, the ones committing the abse were the ones running that particular
section of the jail.
"who watches the watchers"?

You noticed that, too?

I suggest you read the latest HRW report. It seems that abuse was (is)
quite widespread, but

See summary on
http://www.hrw.org/english/docs/2005...usint11776.htm

> I'm not too concerned about the
> humiliated but it's pretty sad if that's what the US Army is

Apparently the problem is not what the army is instructing its soldier
to do or not do. It's the fact that soldiers do not have clear
instructions. Combined with stress, boredome etc the results were
unfortunately predictable.

Cheers,

Froggy
