"BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A United Nations official said Wednesday that Iraq's
recent elections were credible and there was no justification for a rerun of
the vote that gave a strong lead to the Shiite religious bloc dominating the
current government."

Well, it does seem that the Iraqis are learning.
When a vote doesn;t go your way, cry "Fraud!"

Was a butterfly ballot involved?

The GOP has evolved past merely buying off mercenary election officials
like they did in Palm Beach county in 2000.

If you read this story from the traditionally Republican bastion of
Monroe County, you see that they expect us to just believe them when
they say they won't use the proven fraudulent features built into the
machines that they bought knowing that they are flawed. Sawyer is
actually a good man and of course anyone who takes his job in the
future will surely keep his promise. Ya think?

Sawyer promises voting integrity

New machines under cloud elsewhere in state

Other locales can worry about computer hackers changing elections
result, Monroe County Supervisor of Elections Harry Sawyer says.

He said it's not going to happen here.

"I don't let anyone get into these systems," he said. "You have a
good staff and good security, nothing's going to happen."

Sawyer was responding to a Friday Miami Herald story that reported the
Diebold Elections Systems software for touch-screen voting machines -
used in 29 Florida counties - is susceptible to hacking.
