I think limited eco-tourism would be a good thing. You'd need to establish strict guidelines and charge an entry fee to help support the research and maintenance but just to lock out everyone except a few scientists and vocal activists is not right. And just how will you protect those areas from pirate fishing without anyone around to witness and report it? suds |

| I did about 30 dives at Midway Atoll in 1993 - fish life (and sizes) were incredible...if you didn't mind swimming with tiger sharks. Never did find that Jap Zero that supposedly crashed inside the lagoon in June 1942. |
